Nexxus Fibre Optic Cable
Fibre optic cable carries light from the illuminator to the desired emission point. Cable is commonly available in 2 different styles for different lighting effects. Fibre optic cable carries only light, it does not contain heat or electricity, this allows fibre optics to deliver light to areas where traditional lighting fixtures could not be installed due to maintenance or safety.
Side Emitting Cable - 0.75mm PMMA acrylic optical fibres are stretched to create micro tears in its reflective coating, allowing light to pass evenly through its side. This type of fibre is often referred to as Sideglow, and is usually found in swimming pools and as a neon replacement.
End Emitting Cable - The same .75mm PMMA acrylic optic fibres as use in Sideglow cable, however as the fibre is not stretched, it emitts a high light output at its cut end. Endglow fibre optic cable consists of strands of 0.75mm fibre bundled into protective outter jacket. |
